Flagstaff is located along old Route 66 in the Northern part of Arizona and is the County Seat of Coconino County. The City was named for a flagpole made from Ponderosa Pine that was erected by a scouting party from Boston in 1876. They erected the pole to display their flag in celebration of our Country’s 100th Birthday. The largest Ponderosa Pine forest in the country borders the eastern part of the city.

The area around Flagstaff consists of high mountain peaks and green rolling hills. The State’s highest mountain, Humphrey’s Peak is only 10 miles from town and has an elevation of over 12,000 feet. There are several Flagstaff RV Campgrounds in and around the city to choose
