We stayed 3 nights to see the area. The park is far enough from I-75 (Exit 117: SR-170, Raccoon Valley Dr) so there is no noise from the Interstate but Raccoon Valley Dr is a narrow rural residential roads that is without a shoulder and has vegetation encroachment. The online reservations system was not working. Had to call the park directly. The basic rate was for 30 AMP service. There was an additional $1.00/day charge for 50 AMP service. We stayed 3 nights to see the area.
The park is far enough from I-75 (Exit 117: SR-170, Raccoon Valley Dr) so there is no noise from the Interstate but Raccoon Valley Dr is a narrow rural residential roads that is without a shoulder and has vegetation encroachment.
The online reservations system was not working. Had to call the park directly. The basic rate was for 30 AMP service. There was an additional $1.00/day charge for 50 AMP service.
The interior roads and site parking pads are gravel. Some of the roads are narrow with tight turns and vehicle encroachment because the sites are too small for parking of additional vehicles. This is another park that doesn't understand the simple concept of the importance of a flat, level parking pad! Almost all of the parking pads had a single or double pitch. It is a shame that a business expects these sites to be acceptable and that people accept them. There is NO privacy between the sites as the sites are on top of each other. An example was an RV had their awning slightly extended which touched the next RV. The RV that was being touched had to coordinate their departure with the other RV to retract the awning. They have full hook ups - water, electricity (50 AMP), & sewer. The utility connections were towards the middle of the sites but some of them were on the uphill side of the parking pad creating an uphill flow. There was an outside table but the environment was not inviting to sit outside.
The trees around the park made satellite reception hit and miss depending on site assignment and your dish configuration. The park brochure showed 11 broadcast channels. Didn't try to get any broadcast channels.
Only WiFi reception provided by the park was a paid service (Tengo). Our Verizon WiFi hotspot was adequate. Our NET10 phone reception was acceptable.
The designated fenced pet area was sufficient for large or small dogs. There was sufficient area to walk dogs along the park roads. There was a bag dispenser and cans to collect waste at the fenced pet area.
For being in a hazardous/severe weather area, there was no underground storm shelter but the west side of the bathhouse was identified as the "safest building" on the ground during severe weather. The other option was the clubhouse, laundry room and/or restrooms in the main building.
Would not stay here again due to the design of the park. This park would not be an enticement to join the Escapees Club!
