This park caters to families and kids. It is not big rig friendly. We stayed in a 46' fifth wheel and the roads are narrow, the turns are very tight and the trees need trimming because they scrap your rig. The site was level and we had a concrete pad but we also paid for a premium pull thru site. For smaller rigs this would be a great park. We also had noise from the quarry behind the park from 6 am until 7 pm. The wiring wasn't sufficient in the park. We had a 50 amp site. The pool area was very... Read More

The pool area was very nice with plenty of seating even with it packed. Wish their was a rating for big rigs on Good Sams since this is our biggest hurdle is getting to our site and out of the parks. Just because they have big rig sites doesn't mean it's a big rig friendly park.

I have stayed here before and really enjoy the place. The people are friendly and facilities are top notch. My overall rating would be 5 stars but the management in the office needs some coaching. Everything leading up to my stay was fine and during the trip I had a good time. However when I first got there on April 3 I rented a golf cart, upon attempting to pay for it they asked me if I wanted use the same credit card on file I used to book the campsite. Everything leading up to my stay was fine and during the trip I had a good time. However when I first got there on April 3 I rented a golf cart, upon attempting to pay for it they asked me if I wanted use the same credit card on file I used to book the campsite. I agreed and they said it was now being rejected. This made no sense to me and I asked them to try again. I got the same message from them, rejected. After the second attempt the employee had a strange code come up and asked the manager what to do and the manager didn't both to get up and see what the error was they just stated to not to worry about it. So after that the employee asked for a different credit card, which I reluctantly provided them, and it went through as expected. I then signed the slip receipt for the credit card that worked. On April 6th when I get home I followed up just to make sure nothing funny happened. Well I saw equal charges on both credit cards (charged twice for the same thing). I called them and they told me that the manager is aware of it and will address it on Monday April 9. Long story short the manager took no action from what I can tell. So I was forced to dispute the charge through the bank today. My advice is to beware when renting golf carts. When they ask if you want to use the same card you used to book the trip, just decline and use another card. Their billing system has an issue and the response of the management both when the issue appeared and their follow up actions afterward does not appear to be satisfactory. Don't get me wrong this place is otherwise TOP NOTCH but I recently had one instance of being overcharged by $71.55 without resolution so my experience this time is only 3 stars.

Big sites, paved roads, friendly staff. Lots of open fields throughout to play. Unlabeled streets to keep you guessing where you are when walking back from the office in the dark woods, it adds an element of fun. Having the cafe and heated indoor pool off season is great. The hiking trails are challenging and the lake is huge. Plus there are goats in field, pipe organ in the rec room, many unique themed cabins, and strange gnomes everywhere. The only thing to not like is the camp store is small... Read More

One of the most unique and beautiful campgrounds we've ever visited!!! Can't say enough about how wonderful and accommodating the staff is and how well maintained the facilities are!!!

This is not a campground to stay with a son in a wheelchair. It is on a very sloping location. Since the information sheet said the restaurant was open a particular day of the week, we planned to eat there, it was not open and we had to pack up and exit the park to get our dinner. We did not come back and headed home. Our choice but it was money right down the drain. Had the info sheet been correct we would have stocked more for dinner. I'd like to remind campgrounds that not all people are... Read More

I'd like to remind campgrounds that not all people are off on the weekends, some of us have to do our camping midweek, it would be nice to have amenities still open on a week day.

We have stayed at Lake in Wood several times and absolutely LOVE it! Generally the sites are very level, however we waited till the last minute to book our site and the only one available was one that was previously a permanent site. It was sloped and tight, but that is half the fun of it. The bath houses are immaculate with cool tiles on the sinks. The camp store is great and the Cashew Raspberry ice cream is amazing!

This is the finest campground we have ever stayed in. And we've been to many! The term resort fully applies to Lake in Wood. The attention to detail is impeccable. Landscaping, grooming, cleanliness are all spectacular. The campsite we had was perfectly level, side to side. The areas between campsites provides privacy similar to some state parks. There are ample areas of naturalized land, but the campsites, roads, paths, playgrounds, and gathering area are perfectly groomed. This resort is truly... Read More

Well maintained park. 50 amp service was bad so had to use the 30 amp connection. Staff was ok but not overly pleasant. Park roads and sites are very tight fit. Older rv park designed more for smaller rv's. Overall it was a good stay. Probably not on my return list.
