Let’s start with what I think is most important based on other reviews I have read. I generally don’t let other reviews affect my reporting. I tell it like it is. If you are looking for a 5 star resort/campground, this is likely not the place for you. This campground is in the middle of the Chattahoochee Forest. There are no nearby restaurants or grocery stores, so come prepared to cook or drive a distance to get food. If you are looking to enjoy nature, this is indeed the right place. The roads... The roads in the campground are dirt and gravel. If it rains (and it did our entire stay) it could get a bit messy. Considering we were there for 3 days of near solid rain, I would say the roads held up well. Their maintenance crew people work 7 days a week to keep this place up. It is a 60 acre property and I’m sure it is a lot to deal with. Like everyplace else, they are having trouble finding folks that want to work. Take that into consideration before passing judgement. They truly are doing the best they can with what they have to work with. This campground is older and much more rustic than others we have stayed at. Let me say this......Rustic is not a bad thing. Everything blends well with the scenery and is pleasing to the eye. I had the opportunity to meet Dr. Suan when I first arrived at the campground. We talked for a while and I found her to be kind and welcoming. I also interacted with some of her staff. Both Angel and Lindsay were awesome. The maintenance crew folks were friendly as well. Anyway........power, water and sewer are on most sights. They do have wifi available, but it is spotty and disconnects quite often. That said, we didn’t come here to live on our devices. We came to enjoy what the campground has to offer. Our sight was on the creek. It had a level concrete pad for the RV, a nice deck with a picnic table overlooking the creek, a charcoal grill and best of all.....lots of peace and quiet along with the sound of that roaring creek. We slept with the window facing the creek open so we could hear the relaxing sound of the running water. By far the most relaxing camping experience we have ever had. We did manage to get one short hike in between the rain showers. There are 4 waterfalls in the surrounding area. The one we went to was beautiful, but quick turns in the weather cut our adventure short. The trails are a mixture of rock, tree roots and clay so a good pair of hiking boots would be wise. There are plenty of areas throughout the campground to splish-splash in the creek. There is a pond up near the lodge that is stocked with fish and let’s not leave out the ducks. Thank you to Dr. Suan and all the staff for making our stay memorable. You can bet that we will be back again. This is now our favorite campground in the North Georgia area. Mark and Debbie (Lot 28)

This retreat was a REAL TREAT! Lovely day hikes around grandiose waterfalls, with quaint rustic cabins all situated around a huge lodge. The water from the faucets is fed by high mountain springs.... DELICIOUS! This place is a REAL FIND... we WILL be back!

Did this last review even stay here? The place was clean, playground had trampolines, oh my God mountain views, WATERFALLS!!!! Staff was helpful, nice, and I enjoyed the manager who really had a great energy about her. Like Arnold Schwartzeneger, I'll be back.

I gave this a 1 star, if I could have given ZERO I would have. Gorgeous location that was dead as a doornail and no wonder considering it was poorly maintained and had horrible management. I booked this place because it had pretty creeks on site and we wanted to have a fishing activity but after check in we discovered you can't fish onsite which is the stupidest thing and negates the one draw of the place. The owner nickel and dimes everyone to death, they want all of their money up front and have... Read More

I booked this place because it had pretty creeks on site and we wanted to have a fishing activity but after check in we discovered you can't fish onsite which is the stupidest thing and negates the one draw of the place. The owner nickel and dimes everyone to death, they want all of their money up front and have a zero refund policy. We paid an outrageous nightly fee of $55, no weekly discount, another "conservation" fee on top of that and NOT family friendly. Only allowed two children per site otherwise more charges, and although we only had one child we were charged $10 a day EXTRA because he was a high schooler over 15 and she considered him an adult who needed to pay a daily fee. What a bunch of BS! The bathrooms had no heat and half the light bulbs were out then halfway through a shower the rest of the lights go out because they are on a timer. Two days into our trip the showers and toilets were completely shut down (and never repaired), and the laundry facilities were never functioning they were broken, rusted out and the most disgusting I have ever seen, after opening the door I would not even step into the room. The men's bathroom had a literal one inch layer of mold in the soap dispenser bag. They bunkhouse for hikers had doors falling off and the insides were in shambles and overrun with critters. We talked to an older couple who had just checked into a cabin for two nights. The cabin was so dirty the wife had to clean everything before they unpacked and would not touch the tub. They were going to forfeit their money and leave. A tent camper (who is charged almost the same as an RV) came in late, no one at the office, poorly marked lots so they were wandering around in the dark and then they discovered the bathhouse was shut down and they couldn't even use the toilets. No one had informed them of this but of course it didn't matter because they do not give refunds! This place is a non-profit who gets tax breaks and grant money, hard to see how they are non-profit with all of the price gauging and they obviously are not putting any money into maintenance.

We had a blast here. The WIFI is non-existent except for at the office, as is cell signal. It was very nice to be cut off for a few days. The staff is great and very excited to be sharing the campground. they charge some interesting fees, but justify it by saying it is to maintain and preserve the area. The petting zoo consists of some mega cute and soft rabbits, a wiry-haired pig, some chickens, and a few cows. We were there for the 4th of July and they had a fireworks show and bonfires, along... We were there for the 4th of July and they had a fireworks show and bonfires, along with storytelling around the fire. It rained off and on everyday we were there, but not so much we had to stay inside all day. The sites are kind of close together, but that seems to be typical for private campgrounds.

Loved it. The grounds are gorgeous. Petting zoo (not really a zoo, but close enough), waterfalls, camp-side stream sites, clean restrooms, fun playground, nice camp-sites all made for a great trip. The roads are rough - but that is typical for this part of GA. Friendly staff too!
