DO NOT CAMP HERE!!!! Since retiring five years ago My wife and I travel all over and found this place the year before on our way home from another trip and spent one night deciding it might be nice to come back another time to actually stay for a weekend. Over all the place looks nice with a wonderful setting but that's where it stops. While there we lost the inverter on our year old camper, now I have been around long enough to know these things happen, so while my wife and grand children played... Read More

Over all the place looks nice with a wonderful setting but that's where it stops. While there we lost the inverter on our year old camper, now I have been around long enough to know these things happen, so while my wife and grand children played in the lake, I drove an hour away and found parts. Repaired the unit ad went on putting it behind me, but then I struck up a conversation with one of the long term campers that was actually friendly most were not and somewhat hostile to the night by night campers I might ad, and he told me that I was not the first to burn up an inverter or cord and that it happens a lot due to improper wiring something I found to be true as the circuit kept kicking out over and over. I tried to speak with owner who smelled like a brewery, about the matter and he tied to claim it was the fault of the power company, and I just decided to let it go when he started to grow very angry and I felt a little unsafe so just I walked away. We turned off the air and didn't dare use the microwave and that helped. The weekend continued and we tried to make the best of it but things just went down hill from there. The wifi we paid for never worked, the bathhouse was dirty and the attendants camped next to it were very rude when we told them the shower was plugged and water was everywhere. Over all we found the atmosphere very hostile. To top it all off by the time we arrived home our granddaughter had started to become ill, and a few days later her mother had taken her to the doctor. Turns out she had contracted a parasite from swimming in a lake. Something about fecal matter in the water from farm animals that caused it. I am usually not one to fill these things out but I felt that I should warn people about what they were getting into.
