HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! To start... we are a full time rv'ing family with a lot of experience with different RV parks and resorts across the country. Santa Fe RV Park was by far our worst experience yet (surprising being that it's in La Jolla and one of the most expensive zip codes in the country). We showed up 1 hour after hours to find that there was no room for us... keep in mind that I had booked our reservation 2 months in advance and confirmed it 2 days prior. We drove 2 hours during Spring Break week to be told our reservation was given to someone else... that's fun when you have 2 children, 2 dogs and a wife that are eager to get out of the car. When I called the office the next day to find out what the heck had happened, I expected them to be somewhat apologetic... instead I had a woman that told me "THAT'S NOT TRUE! We didn't give your reservation away." Come to find out, they never put our reservation in properly and gave us false information when I called to confirm. Put simply... terrible management, the grounds are dilapidated, the turning radius is set up for a prius and they apparently don't know how to use a calendar. Oh and by the way... you are about 10 feet from the I5 freeway. The pictures on their website are deceiving (or were taken 10 years prior).

We have stayed at this campground several times due to its location in relation to family. We have always been happy with the park, and the employees are great. The only reason I rate it 4 stars is that the wireless internet they show available is really terrible, and this stay we were in a spot 2 RV's away from the Club House - Office. For us, we spent very little time in the park itself and used our smart phones to check anything we needed while there. To anyone "NEEDING" to use the internet there... Read More

To anyone "NEEDING" to use the internet there I would check it out first before committing to a space. As for the park next to the freeway, we found it not really an issue when inside and while sleeping. You DO NOT hear any big rigs bellering up the freeway, it is more just a relatively smooth flow of traffic with exception of an occasional motorcycle. We live out in the country where there is NO noise at night so we feel we would be more sensitive to the freeway than most anyone else. We will continue to stay at this park when we come to San Diego. We looked at another campground originally in the immediate area and it was a busy busy place, where Santa Fe RV Park is pretty quiet within the park. I hope this is of help to everyone who wants to stay there.

Friendly staff, reservations were easy and complete without hassle, parking and site was what we expected. Close to all the San Diego attractions and easy in and out with or without rig. We will be back again this year.
