My family and I recently stayed at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping campground during the week following the Fourth of July. The area itself is beautiful you can watch the sun rise and set over the straits with a great view of the island and the bridge, and the beach has views to match. A bike path connects the park to the city and is about a 30 minute ride at a casual pace. The campground and facilities are clean and the other guests respected quite time. The area itself is beautiful you can watch the sun rise and set over the straits with a great view of the island and the bridge, and the beach has views to match. A bike path connects the park to the city and is about a 30 minute ride at a casual pace. The campground and facilities are clean and the other guests respected quite time. Sites are private with most having trees or shrubs on three sides. Every park employee we encountered was pleasant and helpful, with one or two younger employees a little less attentive than others. A few things I was displeased with included a very poor site selection made by the campground. We have a high profile 45' coach so I emailed and called to ensure we'd get put on a suitable site a month ahead of time. Additionally we were camping with friends, so we requested to be by one another. I never received return communication. The site we had was one of the more challenging ones we've had to squeeze into. I had roughly 6" of clearance on the back and roadside of the coach (with slides extended) and barely enough room to get our door open on the other side due to a strangely positioned tree. I was only able to extend the awning roughly 50% which meant full sun for most of our site from 11:00 - 7:00 PM, which was not pleasant. We also were not placed near our friends. The park roads are tight for a big rig. This was further complicated by incorrect directions to our site provided by an employee, which resulted in us having to do a multi point turn around in a campground intersection. Fellow RVers should also know this campground was very dusty. Not much the owners could do about that due to the weather and the general make-up of the earth in that area, but it is very dusty nonetheless. All things considered the park is okay. Rates are high for what you get but the area is incredible. Service was very good. If they would have put us on a suitable site I would have been able to rate it 4 stars.

Saw the negative reviews from 2017... apparently they got the problems fixed, because let me tell you, this place is awesome. Check in was amazingly efficient. When we arrived there were several waiting to check in and I discovered that there are multiple windows staffed to do the deal. I'd screwed up the reservation, the clerk was very helpful in straightening it out. We paid extra to be on the end, right on the water. Amazing view, so very beautiful, by far the best site we've ever had. Site... Read More

Sites are close together, but plenty of room to extend sliders etc. Well equipped store. Shuttle to the ferry to the island is free and loaded our bikes for us. Were there waiting when the ferry returned. An old timey firetruck roams the grounds in the afternoon giving kiddies and adults a nice ride through the park. We were there right at the end of their season, and were just thrilled.. extended our reservation to take in some more. The only negative is the wifi, they try to get you to pay for the premium version... the free version is dicey, but worked pretty well

Location, Location, Location! This campground has it all when it comes to location. Beautiful shoreline and views. Plus, cordial and friendly personnel and free shuttle service to ferry docks gives Mill Creek some positive points. However, those highlights were ruined by other factors. Due to recent knee replacement, I asked for a site closer to facilities. That didn't happen. I also asked for a drive through. That didn't happen either. Due to recent knee replacement, I asked for a site closer to facilities. That didn't happen. I also asked for a drive through. That didn't happen either. In fact, the camp site area we were relegated to included a narrow street and camp sites that were so tightly packed that backing in was difficult(at best) and there was little room between one campsite or another. Getting to any of the facilities required getting in our truck and driving. On the plus side, our site was at least level enough we only had to adjust our camper with the tongue jack. As for where we were placed and our needs were ignored, we made our reservations a couple of months in advance, so it wasn't as if we procrastinated prior to the busy summer season. We had friends, who also stayed there and they were blocks away and even though more experienced, still had difficulties with their rig and narrow roads/lanes to back in their trailer. And, while they had a larger campsite, leveling became their major problem. If you don't mind being relegated to remote areas with narrow roads and tight campsites, go for it. Mill Creek has pluses. But, in our case, our stay was disappointing and obviously their reservation persons failed to accommodate our needs/requests.

Asked for a site that could get satellite reception, told I had a "good one" for satellite reception - WRONG. Trees not only blocked reception could not get awning out. Lots of other sites that were more open. Closest toilets were "primitive toilets," or outhouses. Wi-fi is a joke, you get 20 minutes of FREE internet, then you must buy one of 2 plans. There is a $4.00 reservation fee - 1st time I've had to pay to make reservation. Trash is only collected across from office - big park only 1... Read More

What an awesome family owned campground! Everyone was very nice and helpful. We enjoyed the very large campground that provided lots of room to walk our dog, ride bikes and meet people. The common area by the lake was beautiful, and we enjoyed both sun rises and sun sets along with swimming in the (cold) lake. We appreciated being able to catch a trolley to the boats to go over to the island. Our only suggestion would be that they 'allow' dogs in the beautiful common grassy area and provide... Read More

We appreciated being able to catch a trolley to the boats to go over to the island. Our only suggestion would be that they 'allow' dogs in the beautiful common grassy area and provide clean-up bags/cans. We are always careful to clean up after our pet, but the trash was at the very front of the campground. We also met a wonderful young lady (the owners daughter) who walked our dog for us a couple of days. She was very nice and our dog loved her. We had a nice large site that offered a little privacy from neighbors. It was a good mix of nature and convenience. They do not have cable, but we didn't even miss it as we stayed outside most of the time. We hope to be able to return to this campground again. Loved it!!!

Site was at the end of a row of pull through and was rather tight fit. Very close to neighbours as well however also close to lake views etc. Fire pit was on site but too close to coach to use. Interior roads were paved and maintained. We were passing through and stayed only one night so didn't get the opportunity to use other facilities. Would consider staying again however likely book further in advance.

We had site 611 - supposed to be 35' wide but barely 28. Great view of the bridge and bay but only from a chair in front of our FW. Could not put out the awning, and needed every inch of two sewer hoses to reach. Emailed management over a month ago but no reply. That said, the campground is convenient to catch the ferry, and while walking/running on the roads the water views are great. Fire pits near the water were a nice touch, but no one enforced the quiet hours. Would not stay in the 600... Read More

This park is HUGE with lots to do for all ages! We had a nice view of the Mackinaw Bridge. The sites are a little cramped. We couldn't put out our awning without infringing on our neighbor's site. A little tight to back our 34' Class A into. Facilities are clean and large with many throughout the park. Will most likely stay there again.

Great place, some areas are a bit like a parking lot but most sites are near or on the lake. Big, but very nice. We stayed near the swimming beach and LOVED it!!!

Outstanding park! Our site was with a perfect view of the Mackinaw Bridge. Full hook up. No issues. One of the best parts was the Star Line Ferry service pick up service from the park, they even loaded our bikes! We will be back!

HUGE park! Has waterfront sites with and without bridge view. Sites are gravel/dirt/grass; all have fire rings and picnic tables. Also has public use fire rings along the lake shore. We prefer smaller parks, but this wasn't too crowded when we stayed during off-season (mid Sep). Utilities worked fine, but don't bother with the WiFi because the speed was so slow we gave up and used Verizon instead. All in all, nice stay.

A terrific place to stay with views of the Mackinaw Bridge and Mackinaw Island...We made a few day trips to the Upper Penninsula sightseeing... My Wife and I love going to Mill Creek...Cant wait to do it again next year...
