The first harbinger was being directed to park in a certain direction at our pull-through site, which ended up putting hookups on the "wrong" side of our RV. When I inquired at the office about reversing direction was told that's the way I "have" to park in that site and that it was the last one available. Fortunately the power cord of our small class B was just long enough when we managed level on this uneven site. A bit later the lack of toilet paper in one of the two stalls in the men's restroom/shower,... Read More

Fortunately the power cord of our small class B was just long enough when we managed level on this uneven site. A bit later the lack of toilet paper in one of the two stalls in the men's restroom/shower, discovered after the office had closed for the night. The morning dawned and after coffee we both headed to the showers to spruce up for the final leg of our trip home. My experience wasn't horrible, just unpleasant. The toilet that lack toilet paper was stopped up with seat protectors folks had used to wipe and overflowing. The shower stall floors were dirty and the mat in the shower itself was deteriorating with "spikes" sticking up that were pretty nasty. My wife's experience was grimmer. She attempted to clean her shower stall and dressing area before even stepping in barefooted. She found a moldy accumulation of hair and scum under the shower mat, an accumulation that wasn't just from a night or a weekend's neglect, but evidence of longtime negligent cleaning. It was downright nasty and unsanitary. This facility has one small bathroom area for a about 100 RV, tent and cabin sites. I needs daily monitoring and thorough cleaning of the restroom facilities. It's a shame that such a beautiful location nestled in a stand of tall trees is so sadly neglected.

To say this facility looks "tired" is, imho, a gross understatement. I've stayed here 3 times over three years, each time thinking things will improve. Just the opposite has occurred. There is not a level site on the property, trees are not trimmed in camp sites. I was assigned a site that was 4 inches off level side to side. As it was after 5pm, and the office was closed, I called the emergency number posted on the office door. The owner/manager came down to the office and reassigned me to... Read More

As it was after 5pm, and the office was closed, I called the emergency number posted on the office door. The owner/manager came down to the office and reassigned me to a different spot, also not level, but not as bad. The owner/manager said "none of the sites are level". Leaves and pine needles litter camp sites along with other bits of trash. Many sites are not big rig friendly regarding access due to large trees. You might be able to get into your site, but you will probably have to work at it. I can't comment on the condition of restrooms as we don't use them. I've stayed during the summer months when the pool was open (didn't use it either), and the pool appeared clean, however, during our stay in October, it was a mud hole. The office was maintaining hours (8am-5pm) that seemed strange considering most folks tend to arrive around the 5pm hour. The office has a small "store" that is not accessible after 5pm. Most sites do not provide a clear view of the southern sky. So, if you have satellite TV, you probably won't be able to use it. They have cable, however, every time I've stayed here, the cable reception has been awful - a very grainy/snowy picture on all channels. Not even watchable. I'm not sure how this park received a 9.5 rating for its facility by Good Sam, but I certainly won't be staying here again. It sorely lacks maintenance. As an aside, it is now renting to long-term guests. We've been KOA members for over 25 years, and this park is not up to KOA standards as far as I'm concerned.

I thought this was a very tired looking park. Although I made the reservation a month in advance, they first put me in a campsite with water and 30 amp. electric. When I asked for water, electric and sewer, I was assigned a site with sewer, but for one night shorter than the reservation I made for water, electric and sewer. We didn't use the restrooms. The pool was cloudy. Our campsite had minor bits of litter. The whole place looked just plain tired.
