RUNNERS: The park is quite big and with lots of trees so running inside should be fun. We ran from our site to the beach and down to the center of Old Orchard Beach. On Wednesday morning there was little traffic on the roads and most roads had sidewalks. With the tide out the beach sand was firm and not to slopped. It is 1.25 miles from the campground to the pier. A very enjoyable run. We had a nice large wide pull-thru down by the beach which was a 1/3 of a mile walk. The facilities are... Read More

Very large, well equipped facility and very busy. Great place for families but not for a quiet stay. Check in was chaotic. We called ahead repeatedly to inquire if early arrival was any problem, but could not get through. Arrived at 12:30 pm at entrance on busy highway and were met by someone holding a sign saying no check in until 2 pm. No help on where to go. Fortunately we found a local school yard that worked. Too bad campground didn't answer they phone or provide a message to warn no... Read More

We stayed at Wild Acres for the first time for a whole week over the July 4th weekend and were really impressed. We found the 3 pools and 3 hot tubs very convenient since it was not too crowded. Plus we loved how short walk it was from the rear parking lot to the Ocean. Our site was very spacious but some sites behind us were more tighter. So my advice to you is to book early for good sites which I did.
