Had planned this stop at Fort Richardson in hopes of seeing the fort facilities and hearing about the history. When we were there (mid week in Sept 2020) it was well into the Covid pandemic and everything in the park except the facility entrance station was closed. We hiked around and looked into the various fort buildings from the windows, read the brochure provided at checkin but were disappointed. Had planned this stop at Fort Richardson in hopes of seeing the fort facilities and hearing about the history. When we were there (mid week in Sept 2020) it was well into the Covid pandemic and everything in the park except the facility entrance station was closed. We hiked around and looked into the various fort buildings from the windows, read the brochure provided at checkin but were disappointed. No perimeter walls remain but a number of the buildings appear to be in good condition. The camping facilities were acceptable, pad sites backing up to the woods were not overly long but fine for our 50 foot total length (travel trailer and truck), generally pretty level, hookups (electric, water) worked without issue, dump station in another area of the park required to part with fluids. We were only there for part of a day and one night so didn't have much chance to explore more than just the fort. I would probably not elect return again even if I was certain the fort buildings were open for touring.

Park surrounding historic Fort Richardson (received a personal guided tour by a park history interpreter which was very nice). Fishing, hiking trails. Gravel pads, spaced far apart. Shade trees, woodsy setting. No WIFI or cable. Restroom/shower facilities but no laundry (available in nearby Jacksboro). Nice peaceful stop for a day or two. Would return.
