If we could give this campground zero stars we would. This was once an extremely nice, family-owned campground, however, the owners have now started to cater to their friends and do not make them observe the basic rules of campground etiquette. These "friends" are loud, disrespectful, and foul-mouthed and are allowed to roam wherever they feel, including through other campers' sites (#1 "no,no" in camping!). When guests ask for assistance from the owners, they do not enforce their own written camping rules. It is so sad to see this occurring. While we were there a family had to call the police due to harassment from the owner's friends since the owner could not control them. Come to find out, the owner would not ask his friends to leave but told the family they could leave. We felt so sorry for this family! They were trying to enjoy a weekend getaway with their children. Just beware of the cronyism that is now plaquing this campground! The owners should see that others are watching the actions of them and their "friends" and do not agree with this behavior!

Traveling through, only stayed one night, but would definitely stay here again. Friendly check in staff, friendly facility staff. Lots of Beautiful flowers and gardens. Nice fenced dog play area. Quiet, far enough away, but within a mile to the Interstate. We had a pull thru so our truck and 23ft trailer did not need to be unhitched.

From the minute we turned into the driveway we knew this place was going to be amazing. There amongst the forest was a path for us to pass easily to our site, but the rest of the trees were left to appreciate. There were beautiful wood sculptures all over - not to mention chickens, ducks and a turkey by the main office. It was incredibly peacefully and picturesque. If this campground were closer to home, it is the kind of place we would go as often as possible. EVERYTHING about it was clean,... Read More

Wonderful campground. Nothing to do in town, but great campground. We would definitely stay here passing thru again.

Nice people and a well laid out park. We were led to our site and all questions were answered by our attendant. WiFi, cable and all hook ups were excellent. There is a little noise from the interstate, but not bad, as we slept with the windows open. Easy access to the interstate is worth a little noise. Very nice grounds with plenty of large trees and surrounded by farm fields. Great place for over night stay or a week of camping with kids.

Nice campground. Would go back there again. Very clean facilities. Lots of shaded sites. One day they provided really good free food at lunch time and in addition the people staying at the park brought desserts. Park staff very nice.

A lovely campground! We were here one night but would have enjoyed a longer stay. This is a beautifully shaded campground with well maintained roads. We were escorted to our site. Our particular site was close to the rigs on either side but there are plenty of spaces with more distance between your neighbors. There are resident chickens who roam the frontside of the park and provide entertainment. We didn't use the pool but saw that it was well attended. The staff was very customer service focused.... On my 6 week travels across country, I enjoyed my stay at Whittington Woods the most. Staff, atmosphere, location all playing a part in the wonderful time spend there. They have chickens roaming free and you may be lucky enough to get fresh eggs every other day.

This campground is a true gem! It's so well laid out, the owners are wonderful, and the sites are spacious. The sites are gravel, level and everything is so tidy. The owners live on site and have a chicken coop with free range chickens. When we checked in there is a basket with fresh eggs for you to take free. This is our second visit and we look forward to coming again!

Very friendly, everything was clean and well taken care of even the chickens came to visit our camp site. The dog loved the dog park. We will be going back to stay here in the future.

Friendly staff. Lots of trees provide shade for most sites. The trees make satellite reception difficult. Great bathrooms. We were there overnight but would consider staying longer the next time.

We stopped at Whittington Woods for a one night stop in route to our next destination. The individuals there in the office were very friendly and made us feel that we were truly welcome. The park was clean. The water pressure was fantastic. We would most definitely use this as another rest point or maybe a longer stay in the future. The slots in front which seem to be for overnight guests are not full of landscape (which is ok for an overnight) they are VERY long and accommodated a large coach... Read More

Very easy to get in and out of, We were delighted with our short stay.

We came in late on a Friday, they had info waiting and excellent directions to pull thru site. Facilities were very nice and people were friendly. Highly recommended if in area.

Wonderful setting, clean & beautiful surroundings. We had a lovely site. We would stay here again but we would ask for a site where we could get satellite. With so many trees - there is no way we could get a connection. Thanks for a nice place to park.

What a great campground! Upon arrival we were given fresh eggs - the owners, who are lovely and take pride in their camp, explained they had chickens in the back and the eggs were free. There was a sign on the door that they prefer cash or check but they were willing to take a credit card if that's what I preferred. The grounds are gorgeous - spotless and welcoming - with areas of activities for children of all ages, that are all well maintained. Internet was easy to access, but no cable - decent... Read More

Internet was easy to access, but no cable - decent over-the-air signal though. The chickens do roam freely - the owners explained different breeds lay different colored eggs and that some, if you go to them, will squat down for you to pick them up and pet them. We'd readily stay here again - you feel welcomed from the moment you arrive!

About the only thing we missed was cable. No cable here, so you to use the antenna or satellite or dvd. Place very clean, you can tell the owners take pride in their park. Nice play ground for the kids, pool is big and clean. Ice cream bars at the office, what more could you ask for. They do prefer cash over credit and debit cards. We stayed here on our return trip from up north.

The best we have ever stayed at. Impeccably clean and neat, beautiful grounds, chickens roaming free and free fresh tomatoes. Courteous owners on site. Quiet and shaded large pull through sites. Lovely park and great price at $37. Well worth it. No restaurants close, But we carry our own food anyway. Easy on and off freeway.. Dog fenced area was enjoyed by our dogs. Swings for the kids we arrived in Oct so the pool was closed but it looked to be a good size. Lots of grassy areas. Will definately... Read More
