The campground was very quiet while probably half-full during our visit. There is privacy (foliage) between most sites. Most sites seemed level although some were too short for most campers. Overall the campground was very clean. The swimming area is small but nice and there are several lakefront sites. The bath house is a bit of a walk or you could drive - its cleanliness is good. One washer and dryer located in that building were helpful for our week stay. I've rarely been to a campground... Read More

One washer and dryer located in that building were helpful for our week stay. I've rarely been to a campground where there is a locked gate that has no code so you could be locked in (or out) during certain times! They say this is for security reasons because the dam is so close so the gate is locked 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM. "Also no parking outside the gate or you will be towed." That proved to be very inconvenient for us because we had to be places before 7 AM while there. You can park at a church 1/2 mile away and walk the busy road, but the frustrating thing is ... After shuttling vehicles and walking to the church at 6 AM...the gate was not even closed! Neither of the two times we did this! I'm not certain the gate ever actually was closed at any time! Other than the day we checked in, we never saw anyone at the entrance station and I felt like for "high security" there was never anyone around who worked there.

We have stayed at this COE campgrounds several times in different sites, but always on the peninsula (sites 16-22). The pull-thru sites have 30 & 50 amp service. We have found the site pads to be level and plenty wide enough for our three slideouts. Our 41' class A fits fine with room for our towed to park in the site. We unhook the towed at the front gate as the loop on the peninsula is to tight to make the turn. This is a gorgeous park and the views from the peninsula are great. The fire... Read More

The fire rings and grills are generally down some steps or a path. While the sites are level, the step from your bottom step to the ground may be large! DirecTV is ify depending on the site.

Very nice campground. Bit hilly so be prepared and have extra blocks for leveling. Some of the sites have the table and open space on the off side (same side as the hookups). You end up stepping down onto the road. We were in a pull-thru site and the front end of our trailer was at the top of it's range due to the hill. We had reservations but still had to go inside and register. You need to park BEFORE you get to the entrance. The lady that works the office isn't very friendly. We were vendors... Read More

You end up stepping down onto the road. We were in a pull-thru site and the front end of our trailer was at the top of it's range due to the hill. We had reservations but still had to go inside and register. You need to park BEFORE you get to the entrance. The lady that works the office isn't very friendly. We were vendors at a local art show and we needed to see if we could leave our trailer a couple of extra hours. She said (the first time) "that site is already booked for that night. You'll need to leave." The second time we asked if we could leave it in an empty site or overflow parking and we got "that site is not reserved. You could just pay for an extra night." We walked through the campground. They were no where near full. This campground is also on a main road, which goes over a dam. In the early morning, you can really hear the cars going by. Water pressure was out of this world. We don't have a pressure regulator (though we're now getting one to have on hand) so had leak issues in our bathroom. We didn't have a cable cable so just used the local airwaves and had 62 channels to choose from just on our antenna. The lady's husband took care of the grounds and was very helpful. There were a lot of nice sites. Most of them are back-ins. Will definitely choose a different site for next year. Great location for anything on the northeast side of Atlanta. Will definitely stay again and know that we can't leave our TT after checkout without paying for another night!
