I arrived at the park on July 25th for a 2 night stay. No one was in the office so I called the number posted on the office door and left a message stating my name and that I had a 2 night reservation. I asked for a return call which never came. In the meantime we went into Mt Shasta for a couple of hours. Upon return to the park the office sign said closed but the door was open, so I went in. No one was in the office so I called the number posted on the office door and left a message stating my name and that I had a 2 night reservation. I asked for a return call which never came. In the meantime we went into Mt Shasta for a couple of hours. Upon return to the park the office sign said closed but the door was open, so I went in. To my surprise there was no reservation in my name. I explained to the manager that we had talked on July 14 when I made the reservation and even recalled our conversation to him - namely that he had mentioned he had recently become manager and that they were trying to improve the park and the neglected lake. When in the office I said that my credit card had been charged on July 15 for 2 nights for a total of $80 which is why I was very much surprised that there was no reservation on the books. The manager claimed that they never take credit cards over the phone and couldn't explain the charge. So, without a reservation, we decided to drive home that night, a 250 mile drive. I called the next day and talked to the weekend manager who also claimed they never take credit card payments over the phone. She also couldn't explain why my credit card had been charged. She further explained that the manager was very busy and the reservation may have slipped his mind. She left a message with the manager to call me the next day for some kind of resolution, but he never called. Seems odd that this would happen since they claimed that they were trying very hard to build the business up. Taking payment for a reservation with a credit card and then having no record of the reservation is not a good way to build a business. I have disputed the $80 charge with my credit card company. Too bad that the manager of Abrams Lake RV Park didn't do the right thing by agreeing they made a mistake and refunding my money. In these difficult financial times it's hard enough to run a business, but even harder when you take a customers money and then tell them that they never made a reservation. Live and learn.

This park is not big rig friendly. We were in a 45' Class A. Manager had us pull into a space behind another RV with the thought that we could drive out after that RV left in the morning. After checking out that departure route, we decided that we could not make it because of the narrow road and the trees. We were able to back out. The space was on gravel. There were mostly travel trailers in this park. The worst thing was the fact that notices were posted not to drink the water without boiling... Read More

There were mostly travel trailers in this park. The worst thing was the fact that notices were posted not to drink the water without boiling it first. The manager never said a word about that and had I not been curious about things posted on the board, we would not have known there was a problem. There was an odor outside, most likely due to the water problem. As for finding this park, use your GPS and make note that the last turn has you going under a railroad bridge, does not have a street sign. We questioned our GPS, missed the turn, and had to drive around the neighborhood while I called the park for directions.
