We stayed here for three nights as a base to visit New Orleans. Only about 25 min away. Very safe, quiet except for minimal road noise.. Basic sites, picnic table only. No fire ring. Sites are large, clean, asphalt pads, lots of grass, trees, birds. Very small playground. Dollar General very close. They have a laundry room, we didn't use. Showers were nice, clean with good water pressure and lots of hot water. I took a star off for the toilets, that's being generous..The toilets in either the men's... Read More

Trash was near overflowing. The office was rarely open, even during posted hours. We didn't need them for anything, but I would have asked them to clean the toilet. Unsure if I would stay here again as there are other RV parks in the area. I found this one on the Good Sam site.

I can’t say enough about Chuck and his staff at Pinecrest RV Park. My sister and I had to make an unexpected trip to New Orleans to care for our ailing brother. Unfortunately, it was Mardi Gras season so finding an RV park to stay in was extremely difficult. At the beginning we managed to get reservations for the first 10 days of an open-ended trip but after that there were no available sites anywhere within 100 miles of New Orleans. Knowing we were there on a mercy mission rather than for Mardi Gras fun, Chuck and his staff managed to juggle reservations around - without canceling anyone else’s reservations - to accommodate us for the entire five and a half weeks we ended up needing to be there. And as if that wasn’t enough, Chuck pointed out the best routes to take to the various places we had to go, what areas to stay away from, instructed us on how to stay safe in New Orleans and told us how to get to various establishments such as grocery stores, etc. in Slidell. He was truly our guardian angel. I highly recommend this RV park for a lot of other reasons, too. It’s convenient to the interstate as well as to lots of services in Slidell, it’s close to the Mississippi gulf coast and an easy drive to New Orleans. The park has level, paved sites, Wi-Fi, lots of antenna channels, propane, a very nice, clean laundry facility, and an incredibly helpful staff. We felt very safe there. We just can’t thank Chuck and his staff enough for all they did for us.

The concrete slab sites are generally level and are about 60 ft. in length. Each site has a small picnic table, which is not standard size. If you have one of those picnic table cover sets for the seats and table, they will be too big. We had to use a regular plastic tablecloth, which wasn't a big deal. There are no fire rings, no pool, no dog run, no recreation center, and no accessible playground. The playground is taped off and not accessible because a nearby wooden barn-like building collapsed.... Read More

There are no fire rings, no pool, no dog run, no recreation center, and no accessible playground. The playground is taped off and not accessible because a nearby wooden barn-like building collapsed. I do not understand why this heap of wood cannot be easily cleared away and the playground re-opened. The roads are narrow, but are maintained. There is one bath house on the property which is clean, but nothing spectacular. The laundry room is bright, clean and newly remodeled, but closes at 6:00 pm sharp, so if you are a workamper, this presents a bit of a dilemma to do your laundry during the week. Generally, this is a quiet RV park, but pricey as there are no amenities offered that would warrant charging these rates. The RV park is located about 30 miles from New Orleans, but the town of Slidell is not a tourist destination.

This park is not up to your typical Good Sam RV ratings. This is our first stay here, and we based our visit on the overall park rating of 9.5. You would think being a holiday weekend, on a Friday, they would staff the office all day and stagger their lunches. Once we entered our campsite, we found the grass overgrown, small spaces, narrow roads and crowded. And this is a PREMIUM campsite! The facilities seem run down and old. I wish I would have known a month ago, what I know now. I definitely would not selected this park based on the narrow roads and tight corners for my truck and 30’ 5th wheel. Although I was disappointed with the park, I will say the staff was friendly and informative about local attractions and directions. The park is only 30 minutes from the French quarter. Please consider if you have the driving skills to navigate narrow entryways, with obstacles (trees and poles) before you book this park. Once parked in our assigned location, other RVer’s arrived. Unfortunately, their rigs and vehicles made the roads and turns even tighter.

Dear Mr. Sanders, Thank you for your review of Pine Crest , however we are a bit confused. The pad rental you were placed on ( #10 ) is a paved 65' pull through site that also has a patio with a picnic table and is 1 site away from the wifi antenna. WE do apologize for the rain ( which had been and was record breaking) for causing extensive grass growth and delays in cutting. In addition, check in time is after 1:00 and we apologize for you having to wait for our return. Your suggestion of staggering... Read More

Your suggestion of staggering lunch is a notable idea, however one of the ladies in our front office has a mobility issue. We are a bit of an older park and we do not call ourselves a resort but with paved pull thru sites, and paved streets we just try to be who we are, " Country Living with City Conveniences" located just outside of New Orleans . Lastly, As a quick reminder, you do still have a 1 night credit that we offered you for leaving 1 night early of your 4 night reservation and we pray that your mother has had a blessed and speedy recovery. Please feel free to reach us if we can be of any further assistance.

Super clean park and conveniently located off Highway. About a 40 minute drive to the French Quarter/Museum district. It had rained a bit before we arrived so there were a few places with standing water, which meant lots of mosquitoes (but that's kind of expected in southern LA!) The owners are very friendly and welcoming and always out working on the property. We were having problems with our hot water in the trailer, so we used the shower facilities. They were adequate- but nothing spectacular. But PLENTY of hot water and good water pressure! Tried to do laundry but the property didn't have a way to make change and several machines were out of order. A resident suggested a laundromat about 5 miles away and it was fantastic! There isn't a fenced in area for you to walk your dog... which would be nice. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and will be back!

I was disappointed with this campground. I was put on a site where I had to walk in three inches of water to hook up. The concrete pad cracked and buckled up nearly a foot. I had a flat tire when I started to leave. I can't say the site caused the problem but I wonder.

Thank you for your review and we apologize about the rain. As you are aware, even though we have all paved pull through sites, the grass where the hook ups are an located does hold water when we get the2"- 3" downpours. We hope to serve you in the future and we'll try to have better weather. Wishing you Best regards and safe travels. Pine Crest Staff

Old washers, often broken despite sign saying new washers. Only three working washers for a huge park. Advertises free WIFI but never works. Bathrooms, showers need to be renovated. Owner gets rude and defensive when a poor review is posted. This park could be fantastic, has great potential. Would have given 4 stars but owner needs to own up to issues just as he requires all guests to take care of their property. It is worth a stay, as long as you are on the right side of RV park.

There had been a lot of rain the week prior to our arrival however the lots were overgrown concrete pad broken up did not look like and thing was done after the rains to help dry up spot or smooth out ruts made from RV's pull in & out. had to find a board to walk across just to avail stepping out of our camper to avoid mud holes.. Needless to say we left the next day w, we had planed on 3 days

It's very apparent that a full-timer had just left as we had a rather large area void of any grass, just mud. our 20 ft power pole was leaning at 15 degree slant which I think I know why. Because our trailer was perfectly level when we set up, but 3 days later it was very noticeably leaning . ie.. it was sinking. To make things worse, we paid $70 a night + tax. When comparing our required 3 night stay in relation to their $500 monthly rent, we paid for 15 nights stay, and did not leave behind the unsightly mess the apparent fulltimers around us leave behind. Also, Good Sam and Pine Crest do not advertise as an RV & mobile home park "BUT THEY ARE". Mobiles do not bother me, RVs do not bother me, it's the junk laying around that DO bother me. Ever notice the high fencing put up facing nearby homes, it's because homeowners don't want to look at the mess either. RV parks should be inviting & promote a sense of want to be here. They should never be a permanent residence, and rules to foster a positive and appealing appearance must be paramount. Good Sam must seriously reevaluate this business before giving it such high ratings "9-9 1/2-9 1/2". And GS should pay particular attention to truth in advertising & transparency.

Our stay was from February 22 to February 27, 2017. We have a 35 foot motorhome with a towed car. Our site did not have a patio. We had to place the chairs on the turf that was full of water. This was the case of several sites. We were told to wait two days for the grass to dry, but after three days the soil was still soaked. The aisles are very narrow to run with a good size RV. Reception, toilets and showers are very clean. The laundry room is of good size and clean.

The negative reviews regarding water after rainfall was a concern before we came but we had rain quite a bit during our stay and, yes...there will be puddles but as long as you're on a concrete pad you should be okay. After all, it is Louisiana which is mostly a swamp to begin with, but we never had an issue with the water puddles. Would recommend this to anyone looking for an RV site close to New Orleans.

Roads are paved and relatively in good shape. There are trash can every where and easily accessed dumpsters. This is a nice park, just disappointed in the rate. Best advice is request a concrete pad.

We came in on Sunday and because they were not open we had to stay at another park for the night. Monday morning we stopped by and they were booked except for a couple of spots. We were just happy to get a spot at the park for a week. Staff was very helpful. They even gave us coupons and recommended places to visit. Laundry room was clean. No complaints, great park.

Very disappointing! We arrived on Saturday and the office was closed. An envelope was left for campers stating the rate and that Good Sam discounts would not be offered unless verified by office personnel - of course the office was closed. Without further information we had no toilet entry code or internet access information. The camping sites themselves are of very poor quality. For example, the water pipe at our site was bent over nearly touching the ground. Seemed to us that the Good Sam... Read More

Was expecting a lot more from this fairly high price resort.Though quite and having all amenities other than cable our overall experience was not what we expected. The wifi was so very very slow that it was very difficult to even try to use.Don't expect cable because there is none. The site is such that rain accumulates and the area around our motorhome was extremely wet and we were surrounded by puddles.

I should have known when we arrived - Office manager nasty because it was lunch time. other office lady was nice - showed us a few sights and we picked an end one easy to walk the dogs . The neighbor came over and said it floods bad so I went and requested a move - told only in a torrential down poor so we stayed - a rain storm and we were parked in a lake. I went back and asked to move to one of the cement pad sights or a high sight on the lake but was told they were taken for overnighters. They... Read More

They all were empty the entire time. asked three time to move - this place sucks unless your there a day or two. water was ankle deep to get to the jeep. Lucky I got out without stuck. Been full time a long time and never wrote a bad review. Lots of other UPSET customers while we there . POOR MANAGEMENT MAKES A POOR PARK

We stayed here on our way to Texas, we where here for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. Facility was clean and nice and the staff where very helpful and friendly. The park was nice and clean. Did not use the bath facilities so can rate them did look inside a seemed to be very clean. Easy to get in and out of and a lot better than most of the near by other parks. Nice hook ups and the fact that they offer free Cable/Satellite channels and WIFI was a bonus. WIFI worked good for us. The only reason I... Read More

Facility was clean and nice but the sites were very close together. Our site had no shade. The facility is more for big rigs and long term camping. Bathrooms clean. Conveniently located to highway.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay very much. The campground was clean, neat and nicely landscaped. The facilities are well maintained, the office had a very attractive sitting area, the laundry is clean, and the restroom is clean and secured with a combination lock. The owner and staff are friendly and helpful. The drive on I-10 to New Orleans and back was interesting. ( Be prepared to drive 80mph or be run over. When in Rome, do as the Roman's do. ) After much research, I found this to be the best campground... Read More

Friendly, knowledgeable & helpful staff. Supplied us with info, brochures and maps on easiest way to get to the French Quarter, where and where not to go. Nice quiet and clean park/facilities. Easy in, easy out, level spaces. Definitely recommend this park.

Upon arrival, we found the park office closed for lunch and had to find something to do for almost an hour waiting for them to return. When we returned, there were two women working the office.
