SAVE YOUR MONEY! Really amazed that this is a SUN RV Property. We've stayed at quite a few Sun properties over the years and this place really takes the cake. I I made reservations for June thru August for a premium pull thru space well in advance over the phone indicating the size of our RV 41 ft 4 slide class A. They advertise all the good things WIFI, Internet, Cable. Had none of these working apparently for many months. On arrival the girl at the front desk told us they can't guarantee sites.... Read More

Didn't get a pull thru, got put in a back in on a slope by the hill where there's a dog park that people can look right in on us. picnic table the size of a cutting board, dirty site to boot. All of this for a whopping $1550 a month with not much there to offer for a 3 month stay. When my husband asked for one of the many empty pull thrus he was told they were reserved. Excuse me? I thought we couldn't get a reserved site. When the employee called the manager we then got a call later and were told "If we didn't like it we could leave". The next day they sent an email that our money was being refunded and we had to leave because my husband complained. Never been treated so badly. Very sad, as we were looking forward to staying in Lovely Gig Harbor for the summer. Sun Resorts please upgrade this property and get a new manager!

It's all about the location. Though a bit pricey for what you get, the only park if you want to be near Gig Harbor. Downtown is within walking distance, and there is also a trolley that runs frequently, $0.50 per ride or $1 for the day. Albertsons, Costco and Target are nearby and plenty of other stores within a few miles . Breweries abound as do good restaurants. A multi use trail that runs through town and across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge is within walking distance. The park is in the pines, wooded... Read More

A multi use trail that runs through town and across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge is within walking distance. The park is in the pines, wooded and relaxing. There are basically 2 sections, a lower section with part time campers and upper where longer term campers stay. Interior roads are paved, with sites being gravel/medium sized rocks, no grass and varying in length and width. Parking and leaving is a bit tricky, little tight on the turns. Our site was comfortably long and wide enough for our 36 foot Class A and Jeep. Electric was fine, water pressure average, and cable TV a bit on the weak side. We did not use the bathrooms or laundry.

We spent 11 nights in this park mostly for the location. The town os Gig Harbor is close by. Great hiking/running trails. Good shopping nearby and good eateries are plentiful and we really liked Anthony's on the harbor. I've read many of the reviews and agree that some sites are a challenge to get into but ours was no problem and it was a back in which was fine by me. We are 45' long and had no problems navigating to our from our site. It was well shaded which made it nice for sitting outside.... Read More

The staff was helpful and very courteous. I had several shipments of items sent to me there and all arrived as expected. My complaints with this park is with the internet and cable TV. I got nothing through their TV cable. Yes, a tv was brought out and I saw a very snow picture but nothing in the coach. Thought it was my coach or cable but after getting a new cable and doing some trouble shooting recommended by our coach CS agents we still got nothing. Several subsequent parks our cable input has worked fine. As for wifi. They have lots of repeaters and the wifi signal is strong and easy to log on. Only one problem. No bandwidth. I was only able to have email download only in the wee hours of the night but could not get websites to load. Wound up using my phone. I'm getting so tired of RV parks advertising they have wifi but it is totally unusable. For the most part it doesn't seem to matter how much you pay either. Disney in April was only slightly better with their internet service.

The park is arranged on a rather steep hillside with lots of mature trees. They have done a good job of grading the sites to be relatively level. We had a large pull through site with gravel surface, very long and wide with some shade. We would have liked to use our satellite but there aren't many sites without tree interference. They do offer cable service that was OK. There is free WiFi but it was not very useful. They have a variety of site sizes, pull-thru and back-in. The bathrooms are... Read More

We used the laundry and it was fine, I think it was $2.00 for a wash. You can walk a short distance along the road, cross to the other side to a very nice 6 mile walk/bike path. The park is very close to a good variety of shopping. I would consider it a little on the pricey side. We paid $46 per night on a weekly rate with Good Sam discount.

The road in is easy to navigate. Some of the turns in the park are a little tight. This is a fairly large park and the sites are pretty close together. We were in site 132, with only water and electric hookups. It is a pull through and plenty long enough but very narrow with barely room for the picnic table. It is nice and quiet in the back of the park. The WiFi was very weak and our Verizon signal was moderate. We stayed Sept 1 -5, 2017 and paid 43.76 per night with a senior discount.

The setting of the park is lovely - trees and terraced up the hill. Other than that, there's nothing else positive I can say. But there's plenty of negatives. 1) Stating that they have wifi is a complete misrepresentation. I was never able to get a internet connection during the stay, and I'm a tech person. Yes, they broadcast a signal throughout the park, but there is never an internet connection. This is undoubtedly because the owners won't pay for enough bandwidth from their ISP. So, if they... Yes, they broadcast a signal throughout the park, but there is never an internet connection. This is undoubtedly because the owners won't pay for enough bandwidth from their ISP. So, if they don't do that, they shouldn't say they offer wifi. 2) Stating that they have cable TV is also a misrepresentation. The picture is so snowy that you can't make out the picture. They told me that they checked it and it was fine. One of my neighbors told me they say that to everyone, and the problem is with their lines. 3) Don't assume you can get a satellite TV to connect to the satellites. There only a handful of sites that have a clear view to a satellite, and those sites are taken by seasonal/full-timers. 4) Calling this place a "resort" is a joke. There's not even a pool. Yes, there's a pool on the park map online, but it doesn't exist anymore. Another misrepresentation. 5) The water pressure was rarely above 40 psi. 6) There's a shooting range nearby. One morning, the gunshots started at 6:30 am. The bottom line is that this is a trailer park - not an RV park. At least 75% of the park is seasonal/full time. The owner/operators couldn't care less about a traveler. And given that they are the only park around, they can afford to do that.

Stayed there for 6 days in site 13. s Site was level and roomy. used the laundry room> nice and clean. Hosts were helpful. Looking around i saw some sites that would be hard for large rigs. Do not like their age restriction on motor homes. Perople can not buy a new motor home every 10 years. saw some in there that didnt look that nice. I feel if it is clean and not all beat up should make no difference. Stayed in a 25 foot class c with car on tow dolly

STEEP HILLSIDE: If you use the laundry facility, or perhaps the shower house... you will be walking down, down, down to get there and up, up, up to get back. It's quite a journey and depending on which site you are issued, may involve a set of stairs as well. If I had any issues with mobility, this place would be a nightmare. Honestly, you can't even take the dog for a lap without feeling like you just did a session on a stairmaster. It's pretty awful. FACILITIES: We visited in October, so understandably... Read More

It's quite a journey and depending on which site you are issued, may involve a set of stairs as well. If I had any issues with mobility, this place would be a nightmare. Honestly, you can't even take the dog for a lap without feeling like you just did a session on a stairmaster. It's pretty awful. FACILITIES: We visited in October, so understandably the pool was closed (but be advised it is very, very small) and hadn't been winterized (neither drained nor covered) so was a dirty eyesore. The single laundry is small, and the showers were a bit dingy (that hair stayed there all week - gross!). Their amenities are meager at best. SEMI-PERMANENT RESIDENCES: The majority of the sites are occupied by people that have temporary work in the area or that otherwise have no home, but work in the area. Many monthly tenants, not too many vacation campers. This place lacks any personality that we have found so appealing at many of the parks we've traveled. WEEKLY RATES: Be aware that if you book with these guys for multiple weeks at the weekly rate, they will charge your card for the full amount of your entire stay upon arrival. If you request to pay weekly, they will threaten your future week's reservation and tell you that you (1) may have to move to another site or (2) a spot may not be available at all. They have a misleading policy online that states: "ANY FORM OF CANCELLATION, INCLUDING PARTIAL CANCELLATIONS, 7 DAYS OR LESS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL DATE RESULTS IN A CHARGE OF 1 NIGHT FEE. NO SHOWS WILL BE CHARGED FOR THEIR ENTIRE RESERVATION, MINIMUM CHARGE WILL BE 1 NIGHT FEE." Potential guests should know that the words "PRIOR TO ARRIVAL DATE" are key here - once you have checked in and they have swiped your card, there will be absolutely no refunds on any future weeks that have been paid, regardless of what the online policy states. The management is unhelpful in offering any type of resolution, not even as a partial credit for future use. Take note of how many times you can spot "NO REFUNDS" plastered around the place, pretty ridiculous. FINAL THOUGHTS: You've been warned - don't do it.

This is a nice forested park and you really feel "in a forest." However, the entire park is on a hillside that is "terraced." Some sites can be difficult to get into. I'm in a Class C with no tow, and I found site 52 a little dicey to get to and to back into. I had a site that was "everything except sewer" which is a few dollars cheaper. Thus, I had to drive by the sewer dump in the morning. Wi-Fi was spotty. Cable was all analog, and due to the unexpected rains (which is why I stopped here),... Read More

My TV's are all the same brand and normally all scan the same channels, but one of my TV's did not pick up all the channels. Also, the person at check in told me I would get an "itemized" receipt. This was not true. I got ONE large paper with just the total. I asked for an "itemization." I was told it couldn't be done and that her screen did not show an 'itemization." Also, their web site says "all posted rates are net of (various organizations) discount." This basically means EVERYBODY gets the same rate and THERE IS NO DISCOUNT! But you will get a beautiful woodsy experience here. I did not get to try out the restrooms.
