Having stayed here 7+ times over the last 10 yeqrs , this was a favorite destination for us. The themed weekends are fun and many of your fellow campers go all out for them. Some of the staff are holdovers from the prior owners and greet you as old friends. The newer ones greet you as a friend they haven't met till now. The amenities such as playgrounds, bounce pad, pools and splash pad, fishing piers , and beach , are all still here. Most have been upgraded or replaced if needed. The... Read More
Having stayed here 7+ times over the last 10 yeqrs , this was a favorite destination for us. The themed weekends are fun and many of your fellow campers go all out for them.
Some of the staff are holdovers from the prior owners and greet you as old friends. The newer ones greet you as a friend they haven't met till now.
The amenities such as playgrounds, bounce pad, pools and splash pad, fishing piers , and beach , are all still here. Most have been upgraded or replaced if needed.
The Comfort station and Laundry near the main pool are extremely well maintained .The adjacent snack bar offers basic fare with some beach front options.
There are Some problems have yet to be addressed or have been allowed to develop.
The WiFi system has been outsourced to off property provider/maintainer, during our 5 day stay, we more often than not got messages advising us when we atttempted to log in that we had accessed the WiFi but had NO INTERNET access. I called the provider directly and let them know what we were experiencing but it never got addressed.
They used to spray for Mosquitos on a daily basis. During our stay we never saw them do it. In the early morning and evenings when we walked our dogs even after a heavy application of Deep Woods Off we got multiple bites.
The Dog Park I have been told is scheduled to be in stalled NEXT YEAR since our first visit (2014) has yet to appear. Surprising as SUN Outdoors in our experience has great ones.
The Theme for the weekend of last trip was Jimmy Buffet's CHEESEBURGER IN PARADISE. Like most themed weekends a band or other entertainers are provided. It would have been nice to have heard SOME, Jimmy Buffet songs.
We love this place but are questioning coming back if these issues are not addressed

This is the second time we have camped here at this beautiful campground. We had a great experience again. One person person stood out at all the activities that weekend and we thought surely this was the activities director. We wanted to praise her to the management when we checked out... it turns out she is one of the owners!! Now that is commitment!! We will definitely be going back next year.
