We love Toutle River. My husband and I stay several weekends out of the year and are sometimes accompanied by extended family who also enjoy the campground. The staff is wonderful!!

Freeway and Train noise all night. dog areas not maintained, mowed or had poop bags available. No wifi except at office. Our group of 10 was dispersed throuohout the park and not together as requested 6 months prior to our visit.

The Good Sam rating is wrong as is the park information. This park has NO WiFi except at the office. There are no rv spaces with wi-fi. The park is bordered by I-5 with constant traffic noise and railroad tracks with heavy train traffic and loud horns. My state rv group stayed here and was scattered everywhere and I requested the park owner contact me which he did not do. I would not recommend this park ever.

We thought the park was wonderful. Very busy. So they spots were almost full. That being said. After quiet time it was quiet. Lots of people on hear complained about the trains. Maybe if you are right on the edge of the park. But we were not bothered. Yes you can hear the a bit. And you can hear the traffic. Which at night sitting outside sounds like the ocean. Now the bad , it's a family place which is great we have kids but people let there kid arrive the golf carts around and no one stops them. They drive them thru the covered areas. Almost hitting us and our dogs. Not my kids I'm not saying anything to them. The BIGGEST problem the water was orange. Even thru are filter. We had bottled but the dogs had to drink the off colored stuff. Also the pool water was a bit off . You can tell once you are in it. It's the orange. I asked they said it wasn't always like that. Who knows. We will go back.

There's quite a bit of continuous train traffic with close by interstate noise. This may be a good spot to stop for a night and then move on. More than one night might be too much.

Horrible staff that are very discriminative and manipulative. They require your rv to be less than 5 years old and if it's not it's ultimately up to the staff to pick and choose. WiFi is terrible if you are even lucky enough to get on. The noisy train that runs every ten minutes and freeway doesn't help either. Do NOT throw away your money on this place. The lawn is never taken care of either.

Nice place with lots of space and activities. Well organized with level sites. BUT::::: Trains pass very close a dozen times a day (and night) sounding their whistle because of nearby roads. Ground vibrates and coach bounces up and down as they pass. Water is yellow, tastes bad, and stains any clothing run through their washers. They charge $20 for friends to visit for more than an hour (using none of the facilities) and parking in the space we rented. Never again.

Good Sam needs to re-evaluate their review for this camp site. This was the worst stay we have had of any camping site we've been to. We pull a 23' travel trailer and camped at a back in site. We stayed during the 4th of July week and had no problems getting a site. Beware as they advise you that there are trains close to the campground. We just came from The Columbia River gourge and the trains are close by and could be heard, so we figured we would be ok to trains. They do not tell you that the trains are probably 50 yards from the campground site. The train traffic seems to be several tracks wide and the trains advise you they are coming with their horn, before and after they pass the camp ground. We counted 8 trains in a 45 minute time frame. We weren't prepared for the shaking of our trailer with each passing train. If you are into going to a cheap hotel and put a quarter in the vibrator on the bed, well then this is the place for you. The 3 am wake up shake is especially nice. At least we got a forewarning from the horns that it was coming. The camp ground has well over 200 sites and the camp ground was not even half full. They placed us right over what appeared to be 5 septic tank covers which added to the ambiance of the site. We could not sit outside our camper due to the smell. The pictures shown on the site are completely inaccurate. The grass at each site is dead and brown. Regarding the bathroom, if you like being locked up in a hot room, again this is the place for you. While we were sitting at the pool, we heard pounding and cries. A little girl had gone to the bathroom and got locked in. The door jammed. Several people attempted to get the door open to no avail. Finally a staff member came with a screw driver and forced the door open. "It happens all the time". Then put an OUT OF ORDER sign on the door! She was in there for about 5 minutes. She was freaked out and embarressed to say the least. There is obviously some issue going on with the management and ownership of this campground. But it does not meet a 10/10/8.5 review from Good Sam.

Nice clean park rates a little high per day would had been nicer if cable tv was included for price. If you want a peaceful quite place to stay it is not for you. Too much train noise all night......??

We have RV'd for years and this place was our favorite. 1) huge sites and full hookups 2) incredibly family friendly environment with pool, evening movie, tons of hiking, grass, games, open areas. 3) they are so friendly and accommodating. Truly are the best owners. They even let military stay free! In conclusion, ignore any bad reviews about a train, yes a brief train passes once in a while but it's not ground shaking. This park has all of the features a park should have!

2 2 out of 5 stars 08/15/2017

While this park is very appealing when first arriving, clean, well maintained grounds for the most part, I should have paid heed to the Trip Advisor reviews of the the Freeway(I-5) on one side and the railroad tracks on the other, It was extremely noisey and hard to get any real sleep during the night, they, the trains run pretty much constantly day and night. Many amenities. sites are large, again many good things but the constant traffic and train noise will keep me away from any future stays.

Easy check in. Our site was dead-on level when we backed in! Well maintained campground. Friendly employees. Roads paved. 1/2 mile walking trail to the Toutle River. Good Verizon MIFI reception but we used their free WIFI instead. Dog wash was great for our lab. RV wash station available, too. In addition to the nice pool and hot tub they have available two barrel type saunas available for free. Movies outside at night for the kids. Large play area at the north end of the park. We would definitely stay here again.

We were surprised at the MANY AMENITIES here! Dog bath, dog deck, huge pavilion area, giant croquet set, frisbee golf, 50 amp sites, store with extensive inventory, children's movie room, game room, beautiful pool area (wish we were here a month later) ... wow! The staff was very friendly and helpful. A reasonable drive to Mt St Helens. There is a train that runs by the property - that's just the way it is - it didn't disturb us. The location wasn't too bad even though it was between I-5 and a very busy two track railroad right away. We were close to the tracks and the ground shook as did we every time a train went by. Our big complaint was the condition of the grounds at the sites. They were loose, powdery, filthy dirt that got tracked in everytime we entered our motor home. We have never been to a dirtier site. We also found the management to be surly and uncooperative. We asked if they could lop off a small limb... Read More

We also found the management to be surly and uncooperative. We asked if they could lop off a small limb so that we could get satellite reception and the answer was maybe the first of the week, but not now so deal with it. We were leaving Monday and they didn't care one bit. Doubt we will ever return to this place.

Brown water, broke washer machines, no cable tv, and horrible wifi. Just some of the great amenities this rv park offers. This place has a lot of potential but falls very short. Destroyed a brand water filter in three days and refused to replace since they had so many other complaints about their filters. Lady was super rude.

We camped here September thru October 2015 and enjoyed this beautiful park. Staff was exceptional! Campsites were clean and spaced well. It is located between the freeway and train tracks but we got used to that. We walked to the river with our dog often and enjoyed the scenery. The only minor thing they could improve on would be the maintenance of their washing machines.

We have stayed at this park a couple of times before so we knew that it was close to I-5 and that there was a train track near by. However, we will never stay there again after our last experience. The office was closed when we got there just after 4:00 p.m. so we took a late registration form from the holder outside the "Welcome Hut". The forms were soaking wet so we decided that we would go to the office in the morning and pay. The office was supposed to open at 9:00 a.m. as posted. When... Read More

The forms were soaking wet so we decided that we would go to the office in the morning and pay. The office was supposed to open at 9:00 a.m. as posted. When we got to the office there was a note on the door saying it didn't open till noon so you couldn't access the little convenience store either. Good thing the late arrival form had dried out. The Good Sam rate was $41.92/night. Way to expensive for what you got. The washrooms/showers were cold; the shower rod and curtain fell down while one of us was in the shower. The pool, hot tub and sauna were all closed yet the big flashing sign out beside I-5 advertised all these amenities as if they were available. There was no staff to be found. Sent them an e-mail when we got home the first week of Nov. regarding our concerns and to date we have not had a response.

We stayed here because of the ratings, and so we could take our time and enjoy Mt. St. Helens.....big mistake. This facility is a joke...situated immediately adjacent to busy I-5 on one side and active (every 30 minutes minimum w/horns sounding) railroad tracks. The bathrooms were a travesty and we were located across the lane from a poorly maintained full time resident trailer.
